Nicholas K. Quest

October 1986, I was born in the remote south western Uganda – Kanungu and grew up in abject poverty marred with intricacies of untamed domestic violence. I was rejected and treated violently several times and as early as age 3, I was sleeping in the bushes several times from age 3 to 10 since I would be chased away home always from our grass thatched house that stood at an angle of 45 degrees that also often times cheated on the weight of storms to remain standing.

At age 8, I started my business of selling fruits in a village that had plenty of self-grown fruits in each homestead, you can guess how hard that was but I would get ways to make a sale. After failing to join secondary school after my Primary leaving examinations despite being among the best students in the district, I repeated the same class I excelled in and excelled more only to get the same frustration of no school fees support, I questioned life dozens of questions and at 15, I decided and joined junior technical education and studied carpentry and joinery, three years later I was a professional carpenter, did many carpentry projects and started dozens of trades outside carpentry.

At 20, a friend and I started a woodwork design company that enjoyed short term success but collapsed on grounds of poor financial management. As quickly as the business rose, so it fell with nothing to hold it back.

In 2008, I came to the city on promises of a job. Little did I know that the said job, was dirty, tiresome, undemocratic and on top of that it had no pay attached to it. I did it for some months while I scan for more opportunities.

In 2009 out of frustration of no pay, I started a metal scrap collection and supply business, in faith, with small capital of UGX 8000UGX (about USD 3.5 at the time). My simple goal was to multiply its growth by 1000 times or more in one year. I made it in the 8th month and later turned into an eight figure revenue till the industry became obsolete.

In 2010 I started a multi service company which turned out well but later partly sold it on a good deal but partners didn't get it successful after I quit management, so it got sold off later in bits.

I built a supply business exactly the next year and made some fortune from it, but I did not love the business that much.

In 2012, I decided to slow down on many trades I was doing and do something I loved, something that made me serve my purpose for living; Impacting humanity through consultancy, training and writing on matters of transformation growth and entrepreneurship and along that time I decided to take on some transformational and academic education that resonated with my quest for life.

I took a forward leap of faith and conviction much as it was something new for me. I easily blended in. Two years later, I had started handling local and international consultancy and training projects for individuals and organisations.

I have written books on business and personal growth, started a number of businesses and held a number of trainings. I am a creative work of positive rage, driven by the desire to transcend and help others too.
