Taking the first step is by far the most difficult thing to do in achieving any dream. There are a lot of mental, physical, psychological, spiritual , everything obstacles that make it difficult to take that first step. You should not wait until the situation is perfect because the situation will never be perfect. As Chahal says; If we need something badly we should teach ourselves to be impatient.

A story is told of a sixteen-year-old boy who dropped out of school in 1966. With the help of a friend, he started a magazine for students and made money by selling advertisements to local businesses. Four years later, he was looking for ways to grow his small magazine and started selling mail order records to the students who bought the magazine. The records sold well enough that he built his first record store the next year. After two years of selling records, he decided to open his own record label and recording studio.

Over the next decade, the young boy grew his entrepreneurial muscle. Along the way, he continued starting companies: an airline business, then trains, then mobile phones, and on and on. Almost 50 years later, there are over 400 companies under his empire. Richard Branson is the man i am talking about. He is the true example that we don’t need to feel ready to start.

No matter how or when you see it, there will always be something that make you think again. Just like you shouldn’t wait for the situation to be perfect, you shouldn’t wait until everybody agrees with your idea. There will always be opposition, and that is perfectly normal but giving in to it is not good. If you wait until there is a consensus, you will never start.. We might think that we need to have good skills or expertise before we start doing something but the truth is, we learn much more by doing than by waiting. Doing allows you to sharpen your skill much faster than just learning the theory. Great people start before they feel ready!

Richard Branson narrates that he was in his late twenties when he was headed to the Virgin Islands and had a very pretty girl waiting for him, so he was determined to get there on time, you know that feeling of a date! .

At the airport, his final flight to the Virgin Islands was cancelled. It was the last flight out that night. he said he thought this was ridiculous, so he went and chartered a private airplane to take him to the Virgin Islands, which he did not have the money to pay.

Then, he picked up a small blackboard, wrote “Virgin Airlines: $29” on it, and went over to the group of people who had been on the flight that was cancelled. He sold tickets for the rest of the seats on the plane, used their money to pay for the chartered plane, and they all went to the Virgin Islands that night and that started Virgin Airlines that we all know today as a leading Airline across the globe. He didn’t have a plan for the airline but at that moment the idea picked up and he started. We have a lot to learn from this story!

All the points above have “don’t wait” in them if you read well. So here is the bottom line:

The best time to start is now, Yesterday is gone, we know little about tomorrow, all we have is today

Old Quote of wisdom

I have learned this in business, When I started my small business at a tender age I didn’t have the skill to create good content nor to market it properly!. I didn’t wait to reach a certain age, I started it anyway. The first times were tough but i enjoyed them because i was learning and exploring new things, After sometime I found myself enjoying everything. I made mistakes and at sometimes faced hard times but it was all fine because its how I got to learn by doing. Thankfully, that experience taught me a lot as partly shared in my book; The Champions Mojo. While there is still a lot i haven’t learnt and so many mistakes I haven’t corrected but I see all this as an open door to a wide room for improvement, I’m now amazed to see what I’ve learned along the way and how I have sharpened my mind to solve diverse difficulties when I face them just by teaching myself to act before i fell ready!

Is the dream worth pursuing? Is it something that you want to pour your heart into? Can you imagine – in detail how the world will look like when your dream comes true? Visualizing your dream will energize you because you can then see how the world changes for the better and how people live a happier life because of your dream, so you can act on it regardless of circumstances ta hand.

My book that changed people on how to act and think like champions

Your dream may be big (it should be of course!) and that might make it seem overwhelming, but, like the saying says, “When eating a hippo take one bite at a time”. So take a small portion of it that you can handle and that is by acting before you feel ready. Think about something that you can do within a year, then what you can do in a months, then in two weeks or what you can do in one week, and then think about what you can do today. It could be as simple as counting 1-10. Great people act before they feel ready! Let me hear from you in the comment section below! If this touched you share with others in your networks.
