On Action taking

A few years ago I was at the height of my own life, business & consulting career revolution and luckily trotted three countries (United Arab Emirates, Zanzibar/Tz, Uganda ) and talked to people all about the various aspects of business and life — drawing from my experiences and expertise. I spoke to many people in form of coaching, seminar presentations, speeches, master mind discussions and so much more. I did everything i could in the personal and business development space. I learnt, taught, unlearnt and grew. When i did a business or life talk drawing from my experience it all felt like i was evaporating content that made everyone gaze in ignition. And as I learned more about what everyone was going through, I noticed that there was still something missing in most businesses, mine inclusive. We listened more than we did. Don’t get me wrong, the knowledge i share(d) is important and revolutionizing. But what I came to realize was that it wasn’t the whole picture. Don’t be feeble on opportunities

Her Voice, soft and confident. Oily-like thighs beaming from her short African print dress and her glowing natural hair, Mariam recently connected with me at a conference. She looked ambitious and confident. We shared contacts and later engaged via whats-app late that night. We had a brief talk about startups and her desire to grow her ushering service company. I shared with her few tips and wished her well in seeking her first client to serve. “Let me know if you ever need an usher service for your trainings, seminars and events you associate with”. She ended with this request. That was normal of course. And get me well, i have nothing against normalcy, it’s how we have been conditioned, but it gives no gap to close a sale. Normalcy is that lukewarm spot of business making and job seeking. The phrase “Let me know if you ever…. (have a job, need this product, need this service, etc)” is the death of opportunity.
