Fight Your Own Battle First!

Well have battles, Right? Yes, we all do. Everyone’s life is filled with chaos, conflict and confusion and battles. It’s just how it is. We learn to deal with it as we grow. Show me someone who’s never had any serious battles in their life, I’ll show you the most boring person in the world… someone who’s never dared to live for anything worthy. In a nutshell we are all battle fighters, but the difference is on which battles are you fighting. Some people make it business to fight battles that never belong to them. Don’t be like them. Don’t waste your emotion and intellect fighting for someone else’s highly-emotional, semi-logical ego battles. Whether it’s business or politics or religion (or family-friends un-ending battles). There are endless battles that present themselves and you are enlisted, recruited and pressured by friends, colleagues, and peers to join & get involved. In my experience i have explored the following core beliefs to be outstanding. Believe that situations aren’t eternal Nothing lasts forever. Even the Biblical Noah’s flood had a deadline. If you are not questioning, not getting skeptical, you die with the Donkey Mind There is an old adage that states that; Dogmas are like two hungry donkeys tied together in short ropes on a lane with grass on both sides. They want to eat off the grass that is on each side of the lane but the rope is short. Both donkeys pull harder hoping to drag the other to their side but neither can move an inch. The animals become very frustrated and tired and none can reach the grass. In the absence of dogma, they would have stopped and tried to figure out how to eat.   The animals can decide to take turns. They can move together from side to another. “When you think in absolutes, the only ‘bush’ that matters is the one that you can see. When you believe you possess the truth, your subjective beliefs blind you from seeing other options”. When the donkeys stop trying to pull each other, they reframe the situation. They are able to consider other alternatives and start working together. By being receptive to new possibilities, the donkeys would achieve their goals — they move from conflict to integration.
